Ken Burns (b. 1953) is a documentary filmmaker known for his extensive series on The Civil War, The National Parks, Baseball, Jazz, and many others (such as The Address), most of which have been produced for PBS.
Burns was interviewed for Sesame Street: 50 Years & Still Sunny! He acknowledges the accomplishments of Sesame Street over the course of fifty years, and likens the show's Muppets to real people who have been around long enough that the audience knows their personalities well.
