Newspaper promotion for Kermit's appearance on LBC's Jellybone
LBC, originally standing for the London Broadcasting Company, is a British radio station known for call-in programming and talk radio. It was the first commercial radio station in the United Kingdom, launching in 1973. Programming was originally a mixture of morning-style shows, news, and various call-in blocks.
Appearances[]
- The children's block Jellybone, which featured phone calls from children, had host Jean Davis call Kermit the Frog and Jim Henson on the April 09, 1977 broadcast.[1]
- Also in 1977, a news feature aired in which reporter Rick Davis interviewed Kermit the Frog and Jerry Juhl about the plans for the second season of The Muppet Show. The segment included a sketch between Fozzie Bear and Gonzo, but not used in an actual episode, in which Gonzo asks Fozzie to wear a chicken suit because Lew suggested it. "What's his first name?" "Lord."[2]
