Leah the Fruit Bat is a guest on The Animal Show. She appears in the episode "Episode 102: Dolphin & Fruit Bat", and tells Stinky the Skunk and Jake the Polar Bear about how bats use echolocation. She reassures Stinky that (contrary to pop culture assumptions) she doesn't like to bite necks.
Leah the Fruit Bat's puppet was later recycled as Benny the Bat in Bear in the Big Blue House.
