Leon Bibb (1922-2015) was a folk singer and actor who guest starred on Episode 0134 of Sesame Street, from the second season.
Bibb appeared on Broadway, beginning with small roles in the original run of Annie Get Your Gun and moving to fifties musicals like Sandhog and the Mark Twain-based Livin' the Life as well as the straight play Flight into Egypt. In 1966, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Performer in a Musical for A Hand Is on the Gate (a collection of poetry and folk songs, with James Earl Jones).
Bibb released several folk records, while on television, he performed semi-regularly on Hootenanny (1963-1964) and made the talk show rounds including The Merv Griffin Show and The Tonight Show. He had occasional acting roles in film, including parts in the Sidney Poitier movies For the Love of Ivy and The Lost Man.
