Let's Move! is a campaign started by Michelle Obama to end childhood obesity in the United States.
In February 2013, Big Bird appeared with the First Lady in two public service announcements launched for the campaign, endorsing healthy eating and physical activities.
Obama announced on October 30, 2013, that Sesame Workshop "will let the produce industry use Elmo, Big Bird and Sesame Street’s other furry characters free of charge to market fruits and veggies to kids. Under the arrangement, Sesame Workshop is waiving the licensing fee for its Muppet characters for two years."[1]
Elmo and Rosita appeared in the State Dining Room of the White House during a press conference with Obama to talk about healthy eating. [1]
