Season 50 variation

"Letter of the Day" is a Sesame Street song/segment performed in all episodes in season 45, all but one of season 46 and less regularly since Season 47.

Elmo takes the lead of this hip-hop song (along with Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Rosita and Murray Monster), encouraging viewers to clap as they introduce the letter of the day.

A new version of the song was recorded for Season 50, notably featuring a new lead vocal from Elmo and with Zoe and Rudy replacing Murray in the character lineup. (First: Episode 5001)

The song was re-created by the cast of Galli Galli Sim Sim for their ninth season.
