Lillias White (b. July 21, 1951) played Lillian Edwards on Sesame Street from 1989 through 1993 and voiced the lead singer of The Squirrelles. She received a Daytime Emmy Award for the role in 1992.
Lillias White is best known for her work as a Broadway actress, portraying Miss Jones in the revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Sonja in The Life, for which she won a Tony Award, Effie in a concert version of Dreamgirls, and substituted as Grizabella in Cats. Her film roles include the voice of the lead Muse in Disney's animated feature Hercules and a small part in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Television credits include guest roles on Law & Order and NYPD Blue.
