When Miss Piggy is scheduled to perform with Beauregard in episode 510 of The Muppet Show, she refuses to play with a stagehand. Instead, Kermit offers her a chance to sing with Jean-Pierre Rampal on "Lo! Hear the Gentle Lark."
With Rowlf on the piano, Piggy and Rampal take the stage, but have trouble getting their talents into synch. Particularly, Piggy can't quite keep up with Rampal's playing, or the range of the song. When they finish, discouraged by their collaboration, they apologize to each other, for they each normally perform solo.
A recording of the song by Edie Adams was used on the September 23, 1959 edition of Sam and Friends. Icky Gunk lip-syncs to the track, while Kermit and Harry the Hipster fiddle with the speed of the audio throughout.[1]
