"Lou Rawls Alphabet Song" is, appropriately, a version of the ABCs as performed by Lou Rawls for Sesame Street's first season.
Rawls sings it for an attentive group of children seated in the yard, first performing it by himself then having the group sing different portions of the alphabet afterward.
Danny Epstein, music director at the time, recalled that Rawls at first declined the offer to use cue cards while taping as he felt it wasn't needed for the alphabet. However, as Epstein puts it, "Soon he was calling for the card because it took him three takes to remember the letter G!"[1]
