Luli is an Anything Muppet who appears on Sesame Street in Episode 1542.
She approaches Telly Monster outside the Fix-It Shop and greets him, "buenos dias." Telly thinks something has happened to him because he can't understand what she's saying. He begins to panic because he won't understand when people tell him dinner is ready or when there's a tornado warning. Luis assures him that his comprehension hasn't failed, it's just that Luli is speaking Spanish.
Luis tells him her greeting, "buenos dias," means good morning. Telly is excited to have started learning a second language, stopping Mr. Hooper on his way into the store to say, "buenos dias." Telly explains that he probably can't understand him, but not to worry because he's only speaking Spanish. Mr. Hooper does a take to the camera.
Later, Telly decides to return the favor, and teaches Luli how to say "good night" in English. To communicate his intention to her, Luis tells him that the Spanish translation is "buenos noches" and asks Luli to repeat "good night" to him very slowly. She repeats the phrase with success a few times, and Telly praises her pronunciation saying, "good." When Luli responds, "night," Telly explains that he was just telling her she did a "good" job. This repeats a few times until it lulls Luli to sleep. As she snores, Telly asks Luis how to say "wake up" in Spanish.
