Lydia the Tattooed Lady

"Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" was sung by Kermit the Frog on Episode 102 of The Muppet Show while a tattooed pig named Lydia danced and Rowlf played piano in the background. The song was performed on the same set as "Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear" from Episode 101.

The song was originally performed by Groucho Marx in the 1939 Marx Brothers movie At the Circus.

"Lydia the Tattooed Lady" later appeared on Rowlf's album Ol' Brown Ears is Back.

According to the Muppet Morsels included in The Muppet Show: Season One DVDs, this was one of Jim Henson's favorite songs. At Henson's public memorial service, Kevin Clash sang this song in Elmo's voice.
