In 1963, Jim Henson was contracted to produce a commercial in which two singing Pitchman Pumps extolled the virtues of Marathon Gasoline. The commercial was called "Out of Town on Business", and was produced as a 60-second and a 20-second version.
The gas pump characters, named "Regular" and "Premium", featured moving jaws in the handles. They were voiced by professional jingle singers rather than Muppet performers.
