Mark Morris (b. 1956) is an American dancer, choreographer and opera director.

He appeared on Sesame Street in season 28 with Baby Tooth and the Fuzzy Funk in two sets of inserts - one where the group dances to Frédéric Chopin's "Waltz in C-sharp minor, Op 64" (First: Episode 3609) and a three-part segment where they express anger through interpretive dance. (First: Episode 3615)

He formed the Mark Morris Dance Group in 1980, and has since created more than 130 works for the company. From 1988-1991, he was Director of Dance at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the national opera house of Belgium.

He is also much in demand as a ballet choreographer, most importantly for San Francisco Ballet for which he created the first American production of Leo Delibes' Sylvia. He has directed and choreographed operas, including productions for The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Gotham Chamber Opera, English National Opera, and The Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

In 1991, he was named a Fellow of the MacArthur Foundation, is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences a recipient of New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs Mayor’s Award for Arts & Culture, and the Leonard Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award for the Elevation of Music in Society.
