"Martian Family (Yip Yip Song)" is a Sesame Street song, sung by a Martian couple aboard their spaceship to their baby.
The blue Martian is the father, and the orange Martian is the mother.
The song later served as the basis for the street story of episode 3337, where a bunch of the resident families of the street get the song stuck in their heads (bothering Oscar in the process). The Martians from the song even re-appear to sing a portion of it.
Notes[]
- Martin P. Robinson performs the blue Martian. Camille Bonora voices the orange Martian, who is puppeteered by Kevin Clash. David Rudman performs the baby Martian. The same performers (minus Clash) reprise their roles in episode 3337.
- This segment was taped on January 8, 1990, and was directed by Emily Squires.[1]
