Maynard Ferguson playing the Sesame Street theme
Maynard Ferguson (1928-2006) was a Canadian jazz trumpeter and bandleader. Playing with Stan Kenton in the fifties, Ferguson played as a session musician on Hollywood soundtracks before starting his own group, heading several over the years and making dozens of recordings.
Ferguson's 1982 album Storm included a jazz arrangement of the "Sesame Street Theme" by band member Denis DiBlasio. He also performed the arrangement in multiple TV appearances.
