Mehmet Oz (b. 1960), known professionally as Dr. Oz, is a television presenter best known for hosting The Dr. Oz Show from 2009 to 2022, on which the Sesame Street Muppets made a number of appearances.
In 2019, Oz appeared in a Sesame Street Memories video where he talks about laughing at Cookie Monster's obsession with cookies.
First gaining prominence as a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, some of Oz's other television appearances include Jeopardy!, Saturday Night Live, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Chew, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Phil, Wheel of Fortune, and Good Morning America. In 2022, Oz ran to become a senator for Pennsylvania, but ultimately lost the election.
