Mel[2] was a light blue bird with a long, yellow beak and large plumes on his head who first appeared in the sketch "Birds in the Trees" from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. His personality is defined by his call "Oh boy!" He is often seen as an exotic bird, appearing in jungle sceneries.
