  • Reminder of our past discussions on performer box changes and requiring discussion first. If you disagree with admin changes, bring it up on the forum or on their walls. Reverting admins and ignoring other editors is one of the reasons you were blocked before, and you're slipping back into it again, so please keep that in mind. Thanks!

    • And you've edit warred again, on Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck. In this case it was mutual, so I'm just warning you both. IF there's a disagreement, communicate: in edit summaries, discussion on each other's walls, or a forum thread. In this case, watching the segment, Gonger actually says "happle" singular, so it's not really worth phonetically transcribing (especially as that was the only example on the page, so it looks weird, and without context didn't even make it clear why it was written that way).

Please respond here so we know you've read and understand our concerns. Thanks.

    • And you did not reply here. You did reply to my comment on the other user. You also continued to edit the page (which I did not protect since I hoped discussing it with both of you would prevent further back and forth). Your last edit also ignored my own message above, that "happles" isn't even an accurate transcription.

So this is a mandatory warning from an administrator. Respond or else. So far, since your last block, you've continued to be uncooperative.

        Loading editor
    • Sorry about all that.

Perhaps we should get rid of all the transcriptions there to stop this.

    • The big issue isn't transcriptions or a single point of conflict but the larger pattern of behavior. You need to read messages from admins (if you had, you would have noticed that I said the edit you kept fighting for was incorrect), and when you're told to stop edit warring, stop edit warring (you left a message that time but it was still the same thing.)

That's the larger issue: ignoring warnings, not communicating (with other users or admins), going back to behavior you were already told to stop (as with both reverting admins and changing performer boxes, which is covered in Policies and Guidelines). So regardless, do not revert any edits by anyone (outside of outright vandalism), but start a forum thread or discuss it with them. Leave edit summaries for all of your edits that aren't minor grammar. If you've missed our Policies and Guidelines section on communication, please read it now, since that's what you keep violating. Wikis are about collaboration and working with other users, including admins and casual editor.

  • Hiya. The tone in some of your thread messages is starting to become problematic. There's no need to accuse a user of "denial issues," or dismissing another person's idea as "stupid." That is not in the spirit of Wiki cooperation and collaboration, and if that behavior continues in your messages, you will be blocked. This is an official warning to cool down the negativity. Is that understood?

  • Hi, I left a message when I reverted your edit to Pancho Contreras. They never officially called him a Grouch, as noted. Also never officially called him a monster. In a case like this, we're best off not categorizing, since a category implies certainty and it being official. Please leave that page alone, and avoid it in any similar cases in the future (or if you want to debate it, start a forum talk page). Thank you.

  • Hi! For the record, Muppet Meeting Films are completely separate from The Muppet Show (the only connections are the prototype appearances of several characters, and Kermit's later cameos). So characters in them are like Category:Commercials Characters. Disney does not own the meeting films.

    P. Fenton Cosgrove was reworked to become Waldorf, so Waldorf belongs, but not the prototype who never appeared on The Muppet Show. Similarly, Big Head never interacted with The Muppet Show universe and the puppet is now actually being used on Sesame Street. In a few cases, if the exact same puppet made an unnamed appearance in a The Muppets-relevant show (like Shirley on Muppets Tonight), they can be categorized. Otherwise, please leave them alone. Or else, if you really think they belong, start a discussion first (especially when it comes to Coffee Guy and the like).

    • Actually, the Muppet Meeting Films are among the Identified Entertainment Properties in the Disney-Henson deal. The films do appear to be Disney soil, atleast from what I can tell, however many characters like Smilin' Ed and Kent either appeared once or only in the Meeting Films, so they have little relevance and wouldn't qualify for the Muppets Characters category. Ditto on P. Fenton Cosgrove.

    • I didn't know or forgot that so thanks for the correction, Jonathan. (I was probably confused because the licensing of the films to corporations is handled differently). In that case Big Head could be debatable, but I stand by the rest (and Helpless, Heartless and Rich was just a throwaway reference, and these days probably wouldn't even get its own page; mass migration of every Muppet Meeting Films entry regardless of content or relevance was what was bothering me.)

We should probably open that discussion on what belongs in Muppet Characters or "The Muppets Characters" soon, though. As I've mentioned, I'm dubious about a lot of the Category:Caricature Muppets which were explicit caricatures created either as gifts or just for that guest star's episode, and which for obvious legal as well as logical reasons can't be reused. I took out a couple like Andy Williams Muppets, and Tim Curry Muppet was never in a Muppet production (just one video extra with Tim Curry by himself), but it would be good to get a wider opinion on that.

    • All of the Muppet Meeting Films characters deserve to be categorized as "The Muppets Characters", due to Disney owning the rights to them and to the Meeting Films themselves.

  • Hi. Is there an official source for the Flying Zucchini Brothers appearing in Muppets Most Wanted? I realize in one of the recent trailers there is a two second clip of a musical scene featuring a pair of shooting cannons; but it's hard to make out the blurred figures in that one shot, and while the design of the cannons might be an indication, I'm not convinced based solely on that clip that we can go ahead and confirm it's them.

  • Hi, it looks as though you didn't see Andrew's edit summaries, which distinctly explain why Mordecai Sledge and Lardpork do not belong in the Muppets Characters category. If you disagree, we can discuss on this thread, but do keep in mind that if an admin reverts your edit, especially when a reason is given in their edit summary, it's best not to change it back. Thanks!

    • Hear me out.

The reason I put those categories back is because Caleb and Mean Floyd currently have the "The Muppets characters" category on them, so the other two need to have them to keep it even.

Also, the "The Muppets" universe doesn't exactly start with "The Muppet Show". The "Tales from Muppetland" specials (Bremen, Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella) are all part of that universe, along with the two Muppet Show pilots. Besides, Disney owns the rights to Bremen, Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella now anyway, so it's safe to include Tales from Muppetland characters (even ones that did not appear on The Muppet Show) as part of the "The Muppets" universe and heirarchy. Again, doing that keeps things even and proper.

    • You're the one who added them to Caleb Siles and Mean Floyd (Mean Floyd was already removed, and I'd meant to undo on Caleb but seem to have missed it).

For the larger issue though, please actually read the talk page. We define categories with careful definitions precisely for that reason (we tried not to do so based solely on sales ownership either, but more on whether the characters were used again from The Muppet Show on ward). You're definitely encouraged to start up a discussion on the category definition on the talk page or in the forums. You can copy your explanation, or expand on it, and we can see if there's community consensus to change the guidelines. But please do not undo explained edits again or change those categories until there *is* a consensus. Thanks!

  • Hi! I'm starting to get a little concerned by the tone of your messages. They're a little demanding. Please don't think that other websites are "refusing." Keep in mind that none of those websites, assuming they still have contacts, are run by people who are actually *paid* for it, and thus they only have so much time and resources. Keep in mind that many of those contacts result in someone *sending* them releases, not that they can just reach out and ask at any time. And even if they did try, well, Disney isn't really there to reassure people. They're aware of fan interest, and whatever the delay (Disney never even finished releasing many shows they fully own, like Talespin), leaving agitated messages on Muppet Wiki won't help.

Frustration is understandable, so feel free to vent about it on other forums, but please stop using the talk pages (meant to improve article content) to complain and, at this point, basically accuse other fans and websites because you're unhappy that the seasons aren't out yet. Thanks for understanding!

  • Hi! What's your source for Angelina McCoy appearing in a musical number in The Muppets? We need to show sources for info added to the wiki.
