In the blocking for the taped scene, Linda spends a fair amount of time trying to acquire the book from Big Bird by way of some coordinated footwork somewhat resembling activity that might be seen on a basketball court.

When a book about basketball is placed, Kingsley directed that the sound effect should emulate "Madison Square Garden fans cheer as if a basket was made by Michael Jordan." The sound effects are not present in the final version of the segment.
