Michael Mullen (b. 1946) is a retired Navy admiral and was the 17th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
In April 2010, Admiral Mullen and Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III attended a special screening of When Families Grieve along with the production's stars (Elmo, Jesse, and Rosita) and Sesame Workshop President Gary Knell.
