Minnesota Mel is an adventurer who visits Sesame Street in a 2008 episode of Sesame Street. He has been searching for the Golden Triangle of Destiny, but gets a charley horse before he can complete his quest. Taking up a similar Indiana Jones-esque persona, Telly Monster becomes Texas Telly and picks up where Mel left off.
Mel eventually recovers just as Texas Telly finds the Golden Triangle of Destiny and tries to take credit for its discovery. The two start a tug-of-war over it before Telly realizes that it shouldn't belong to either of them and should instead be submitted to the Museum of Triangular History.
