Miss Adelaide is one of the three human leads of the 1995 special Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree.
Hailing from Sweden, she serves as the maid of Willowby Manor. On Christmas Eve, she retreats back to her upstairs room, which Mr. Willowby notes has been a regular occurrence for years; he theorizes she's lonely for her homeland. When Baxter is sent to her room to provide her with a section of his Christmas tree, he finds her disposition is less sad than expected, with her room decorated to celebrate the day in Swedish tradition.
She dresses Baxter in some traditional garb, including a wreath-candle headpiece and scolds him from disposing of Father Mouse. Before he leaves, she gifts him a small piece of the tree, endearing her to him. She also chops off a piece of the tree, sending the Mouse Family on another leg of their holiday adventure. By the time of the party, she manages to leave her room to join the festivities and share a waltz with Baxter.
In the original 1963 book, she is recognized specifically as the upstairs maid (though she is seen tending to the ground floor affairs during the special's opening song). Her Swedish heritage is an invention of the special.
