Miss Fortune is an enthusiastic but less than adept fortune teller who was one of the regular characters in the Sesame Street comic strip which launched in 1971.
In Season 4, strip cartoonist Cliff Roberts produced new animated inserts featuring characters from the comic. While some characters such as Jasper and Julius appeared in multiple segments, Miss Fortune was only animated once. In the insert (First: Episode 0483), she feels the head of Gompers the dog (another strip character, also voiced by Jim Thurman) to determine his species, but needs considerable prompting.
