The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center establishment was approved in 2001 by the Mississippi state legislature. The Center's purpose is to celebrate the richness and depth of the legacy of Mississippi's arts and artists. The center will house a Hall of Fame and a Walk of Fame, featuring celebrated Mississippians.
Kermit the Frog sits on the Honorary Celebrity Committee for the Center, along with Lance Bass, Faith Hill, Jimmy Buffett, and Morgan Freeman.
