
Missouri is the 24th state of the United States of America. It was named after the Missouri River. One of the state's most notable natives was author Mark Twain, whose book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is largely set in Hannibal, Missouri.

- The state's hockey team, the St. Louis Blues, was commemorated in a Muppet pin featuring Kermit the Frog playing the saxophone.
