Mitchell Kriegman is a television writer, director, and producer who was worked on a number of Muppet and Henson projects, most notably creating Bear in the Big Blue House.
Outside of Henson, Kriegman created the series Clarissa Explains It All for Nickelodeon, The Book of Pooh for Disney Channel, and It's a Big Big World for PBS. He also worked as a writer on Saturday Night Live, Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Doug, and Reading Rainbow.
His production company, Big Big Productions, developed the patented technique called Shadowmation which utilizes real time virtual sets and chroma key-style team puppetry. The process has been used in The Book of Pooh, It's a Big Big World, and the fourth season opening of Bear in the Big Blue House. Among his many honors, he has received numerous Emmys and Parents Choice awards for his work in children's programming.
