The brothers have a 1977 Talking Big Bird alarm clock in their bedroom. It goes off, and as the younger brother gets up, Big Bird recites his full spiel: "Wake up! It's me, Big Bird, and it's time to get up. Open your little eyes now. Don't roll over and go back to sleep. Come on now. One foot out of bed. Now the other one. Okay, have a nice day, and don't forget to wind the clock."
After a brief cut to the kitchen, Big Bird repeats the first four sentences when the second brother gets up.
