The "Mother Goose Jamboree" is an animated Sesame Street medley of nursery rhymes hosted by Cab Callowmouse.
An introduction performed by Ivy Austin (in a Betty Boop voice) sets the scene of a bookstore closed for the night. Inside the store, Cab sneaks across the bookshelves until the clock strikes one and a spotlight is shined on him. Cab sings to the tune of "Hickory Dickory Dock" and begins an all-night Mother Goose-themed musical showcase. The nursery rhymes come to life and are re-enacted in various styles. "Hey Diddle Diddle" is retold with characters styled after Fleischer-era rubber-hose animation. An art-deco Jack and Jill hoof up the hill. A singing trio (ala the Andrews Sisters) harmonizes about a clarinet-blowing Little Boy Blue (a caricature of Benny Goodman). Finally, a Carmen Miranda-esque dancer puts a Latin spin on "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary." When the sun rises and a weathervane rooster crows, the nursery rhyme characters stop partying and return to their books.
