Mother Nature is a popular personification of the forces of nature as a woman who controls all the elements, plants, and animals. Sometimes interchangeable with the Greek deity Gaia (who embodied the Earth itself), Mother Nature is typically depicted communing with or protecting her subjects.
In pop culture, Christmas productions feature her as a peer of Santa Claus while other tales often pair her with Father Time. It's common to attribute changes in weather to the work of Mother Nature.
