Segel responds to the assumption that may have been made by industry professionals that, given his reputation, his intentions for a Muppet movie might have been cynical or ironic. Adams stressed that unlike a lot of other movies that are expressly for adults or children, The Muppets is truly a family film. Bobin stresses the use of comedy for children in a way that's not talking down to them.
