Mr. Hewitt is the postal carrier who appears on Sesame Street in Episode 1126.
He makes his stop at Hooper's Store shortly after David receives a request from Maria to deliver her a sandwich because it's raining too hard for her to come get it herself. David can't leave the store alone, so he asks Mr. Hewitt if he wouldn't mind taking it with him to his next stop at 123 Sesame Street.
Despite David buttering him up with a cup of tea, Mr. Hewitt informs him that he's only authorized to deliver official mail. To accommodate his terms, David places a stamp on the sandwich, wraps it up, seals it in a box, and stamps it again. He then asks if he could drop the package off with Maria in time for lunch, but Mr. Hewitt tells him it will take at least two days because it needs to be processed at the post office.
When David realizes he's gone through too much trouble to bother, he asks for the package back. The dutiful postal worker informs him that since he's already relinquished the package, any tampering with the process would be a federal offense.
