Muppet Beach Party was released on CD and audio cassette by BMG Kidz and Jim Henson Records in 1993. The cassette version came with a poster that had the lyrics on the other side.
The album features the Muppets having an all-day beach party and performing popular songs, mostly from the 1960s.

Promotion[]
Music videos were produced for the songs "Kokomo" and "Wipe Out" and were broadcast on VH1 and Nickelodeon around the time of the album's release. The "Kokomo" music video was included on the sing-along video "It's Not Easy Being Green" released in 1994. Animal's performance of "Wipe Out" was also released as a single in the US and UK.
Additionally, Kermit and Clifford made an appearance on Friday Night Videos in 1993 to perform "Under the Boardwalk" with the Tonight Show Band.
