The Muppet Show Theme Song Starting with the second season, the opening theme features characters appearing in a series of arches. The final shot shows 50 Muppets singing "This is what we call the Muppet Show!" The shot was achieved by filming each row of arches individually and compositing the footage on top of each other. Later recreations, as in The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted, have included fewer Muppets. |
| Muppet Theatre Audience A series of stock audience reaction shots were filmed and used on The Muppet Show from season 3 onward, notably used in the opening theme. The audience itself includes 99 Muppets.[2] These shots are actually composite shots, with up to seven filmed elements matted together, achieving one whole image of a theatre populated with Muppets.[3] Some unique shots were also created of the crowded auditorium for certain episodes, such as in 410 with the audience singing "Love Lifted Me." | |
