Muppet plush (Giftware International)

Giftware International produced a series of plush Muppet backpacks, clipons, magnets and purses in 1998.

The following characters were made:

Backpacks

• Kermit backpack
• Fozzie backpack
• Rizzo backpack
• Gonzo's Head backpack
• Animal's Head backpack

Magnets

• Kermit's head
• Fozzie's head
• Gonzo's head
• Animal's head
• Rizzo's head

The 6" to 8" purses of Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal and Rizzo also were made and shaped like Muppet heads. The Kermit was the only full bodied purse, and all Giftware International products sold mostly at eBags, online and Walt Disneyworld and Disneyland theme park stores.

Also made were approximately 6" plush clipons of Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal and Rizzo. They were full bodied and sold only in the United Kingdom by Giftware International.

Miss Piggy was planned to be produced in the series, but the prototype was not approved by Henson, according to the marketing manager at Giftware North America, Florida, United States.

The Rizzo backpack was the first Rizzo plush ever produced. The backpacks are very detailed, but not very functional since there's not too much space inside.
