My Neighbour Totoro is a 2022 stage adaptation of the 1988 Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro) written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Jim Henson's Creature Shop built full-scale puppet versions of creatures for the production staged at the Barbican Centre in London from October 2022 to January 2023. The film's composer Joe Hisaishi developed the show with the Royal Shakespeare Company under the direction of Phelim McDermott. Puppeteer Basil Twist adapted the character designs from the film which were built at the Creature Shop's Los Angeles location. Additional puppets were built by Mervyn Millar's company, Significant Object.
Promotional materials for the show omitted visuals of the finished puppet characters, but included portions of Totoro and the Cat Bus being built in the workshop.
