My Sesame Street Friends is a short-form Sesame Street compilation series exclusive to HBO Max. The first set of four "seasons," consisting of thirteen 12-minute episodes, premiered on November 12, 2020.
Each season centers around a specific character, who hosts each episode about varying topics featuring segments starring that specific character.
- "My Elmo" features the recent editions of "Elmo's World," edited versions of "Elmo the Musical," and "Elmo & Tango's Mysterious Mysteries."
- "My Cookie Monster" features "Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck," "Cookie's Crumby Pictures," and "Smart Cookies."
- "My Abby" features edited versions of "Abby's Amazing Adventures" and "Abby's Flying Fairy School." Later editions swap out these segments for street stories, and assorted inserts and YouTube original pieces.
- "My Sesame Music," hosted by Grover, features a variety of musical inserts from the show and YouTube-produced videos.
A second batch of episodes was released on November 11, 2021, with additional seasons of "My Elmo," "My Cookie Monster," and "My Abby." A third wave of episodes, with additional seasons of "My Elmo," "My Cookie Monster," "My Abby," and "My Music," was released on November 3, 2022. A fourth wave of episodes, with additional seasons of "My Elmo," "My Cookie Monster," and "My Abby," was released on November 9, 2023. A fifth wave of episodes with a new season of "My Elmo" premiered on January 16, 2025.
Ryan Dillon served as one of the directors for the series, directing the framing scenes for the "My Abby" and "My Sesame Music" episodes in the first wave,[1] and the "My Abby" and "My Cookie Monster" scenes for the second and fourth waves.[2][3]
Puppeteers for the series include Ryan Dillon, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, David Rudman, and Eric Jacobson, with supporting performers Pam Arciero, Tyler Bunch, Frankie Cordero, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Christopher Hayes, Lara MacLean, Carmen Osbahr, Sebastiano Ricci,[4] and Martin P. Robinson.
