Big Bird and Bruce Jenner

NBC Salutes the 25th Anniversary of the Wonderful World of Disney aired on NBC as a two-part special, on September 13 and September 17 of 1978. Hosted by Ron Howard and Suzanne Somers, a host of celebrities commented on and paid tribute to Disney's television and film work.

Big Bird made an appearance alongside Bruce Jenner, claiming to be so excited to be on the program he could fly...if he knew how. Jenner tells him how Peter Pan could help, cuing brief scenes from the animated film. After the clips, Big Bird finally flies (indicated from falling yellow feathers from above).

Big Bird also appeared in the opening title sequence singing "Heigh Ho" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with other celebrities, including Ed Asner, Ray Charles, Crystal Gayle, and Bob Hope.
