Neil Gaiman (b. 1960) is an English author of books, comics, and screenplays. Some of his notable works, many of which have been adapted to film and TV, include the DC Comics series The Sandman and the novels Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett), Coraline, and American Gods.
Gaiman narrated the augmented reality storybook The Storyteller: The Seven Ravens, which was previewed in 2020 before making its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in 2023. Gaiman was previously attached to a reboot of The StoryTeller.
With his longtime collaborator Dave McKean, Gaiman wrote the teleplay and co-wrote the story for the 2005 Jim Henson Company film MirrorMask. Gaiman was a recipient of The Jim Henson Honors in 2008.
The Jim Henson Company optioned Gaiman's novel Neverwhere (based on the BBC2 miniseries of the same name) in 1997, but it was never produced.[1]
Muppet Mentions[]
- In Gaiman's short story, "The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories," different characters tell different rumors about who was with John Belushi when he died. Gaiman wrote, "I expected another confidential couple of stars: to be told that John Belushi had kicked the bucket in company with Julie Andrews and Miss Piggy the Muppet."
