New Baby is a Sesame Street song from the mid-1980s.
Frieda sings about the new baby that her mother recently had, but she finds that her new little brother doesn't do much, and spends much of his time crying. Eventually, Frieda decides to try and get used to him, and has fun playing with him.
Notes[]
- Performers include Fran Brill (Frieda), Richard Hunt (baby monster), and Pam Arciero (Frieda's mother).
- This segment was directed by David Heeley and was taped on November 29, 1984.[1]
- All three monsters in this song would become a different monster family in the 1990s: Frieda would eventually be modified into Ingrid, the same puppet used for Frieda's mother would later be used for Humphrey, and the baby monster became Baby Natasha.
