Nick and Nora Chicken are a detective team, spoofing the husband and wife sleuths Nick and Nora Charles from The Thin Man (specifically the movie versions). They feature prominently in Sesame Street Episode 3129.
Unlike the Charleses, Nick and Nora Chicken are brother and sister (and the latter is literally a chicken). Despite the lack of family resemblance (and difference in species), Nick explains he was adopted. He refers to Nora as "the brains of the outfit."
The pair successfully find Prairie Dawn's piano, only for Nora to suddenly disappear (and Nick has to team up with Colambo to find her). In the end, Nora chooses to give up sleuthing for a gig in an all-animal band. Nick retires too, to go into the family business of laying eggs.
