Nickelodeon (or Nick) is a popular cable network aimed at children. In the early to mid 90s, they aired reruns of The Muppet Show (from 1994 to 1996), Muppet Babies (from 1992 to 1999) and various specials. The Muppet Show and Muppet Babies were shown during Nickelodeon's regular hours as well as during Nick Jr, Nickelodeon's preschool programming block, at one point as part of an hour-long block called Jim Henson's Muppet Hour. Nick Jr also aired the Muppet Time segments.

Jim Henson Productions produced an original series for the station, The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.

Nickelodeon also aired '"Secrets of the Muppets" and "Living with Dinosaurs" for the first time in the U.S.

This channel had a few different titles for various showings of Henson specials. From November to December 1992, Muppet specials were shown on Sunday nights, as part of "Nickelodeon's Sunday Night Muppets". A year later, Nickelodeon showed specials on Friday nights, and called it "Nickelodeon's Friday Night Muppets". A few Muppet specials were occasionally shown on Nickelodeon's Special Delivery series. On Memorial Day, 1993, Nickelodeon broadcast an eight-hour-long Muppet Marathon, featuring both specials and episodes of Muppet Babies.

From Summer 1993 to 1995, Nickelodeon broadcast Muppet Matinee, a Saturday showing of Muppet specials.

The network ran Noggin, a station for young children, as a partnership with Sesame Workshop (which sold its share in 2002). The channel continued to run Sesame Street-related programming until 2005.
