"I've always had a crush on Miss Piggy."

Facelift

Miss Piggy stands in for Cage in a 1999 calendar parody of Face/Off.

Nicolas Cage (b. 1964) is an Academy Award-winning actor. He is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola.

When Cage was interviewed for NME in 2018, the following exchange took place:[1]

NME: We are interviewing Miss Piggy and Kermit of the Muppets soon and I wondered if you had a question for them?
Cage: Well, I always had a crush on Miss Piggy but I never knew why. Could you ask her why I had a crush on her?
NME: Shall I ask her on a date for you maybe?
Cage: Er, possibly. That'd be fun.

In the subsequent interview with Miss Piggy, she thinks on the idea for a moment before replying, "He won an Oscar, right?" Kermit confirms that he did, for Leaving Las Vegas. Piggy agrees to the date so long as Cage is willing to give her his Oscar.[2]

While promoting the release of The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent for Twitter Movies in 2022, Cage reads a tweet from someone asking for a remake of The Rock with all Muppets, but keeping Cage as the only human character. Cage responds, "I would love to be in a Muppet movie. I think Kermit and I could be best friends and I've always had a crush on Miss Piggy."[3]

Some of his roles include Fast Times at Ridgemont High (with Phoebe Cates), The Cotton Club (with Gregory Hines), Peggy Sue Got Married (with Kathleen Turner), Raising Arizona (with John Goodman), Moonstruck (with Cher), Shadow of the Vampire (with John Malkovich), Adaptation (with Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper), National Treasure (with Sean Bean), the Marvel Comics film Ghost Rider, Kick-Ass (with Chloë Grace Moretz), and many others. He has also voiced Superman in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Jacob Marley in Christmas Carol: The Movie.
