Norman L. Martin is a composer who often collaborated with Dinah Shore, including music for her various TV shows. Martin produced the 1979 Sesame Street album Dinah! I've Got a Song. He co-wrote eight songs for the album, sung by Dinah Shore and different Muppet characters (such as "Numbers" tailored to the Count). He later co-wrote the non-Muppet track "I Have a Song" for In Harmony: A Sesame Street Record.

Martin wrote songs for Steve & Edye, Cleo Laine, and Barry Manilow. For Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop, he wrote songs for several albums, video releases, "The Song That Doesn't End," and the 1994 stage show Lamb Chop on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include music and lyrics for the revues Catch a Star! and From A to Z (with Hermione Gingold) and the book to 70, Girls, 70. He wrote music and script for the 1982 animated special Stanley, the Ugly Duckling.
