Old Dogs is a live action comedy starring John Travolta and Robin Williams as two single middle-aged friends (one a bachelor, one divorced) who work in the sports marketing field. They suddenly wind up taking care of twins (a boy and a girl) and must asjust to parental responsibility.
One of the supporting characters, Jimmy Lunchbox (played by Bernie Mac), is described in the presskit as "an over-the-top children's performer and puppeteer." As part of his show, several puppets are featured, supplied by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. However, the credits identify them as "Muppets," performed by Edward Noel MacNeal, John Kennedy, Matt Vogel, Josh Cohen, R. Bruce Connelly, and Joe Kovacs. These were, in fact, mostly pre-existing Muppets from shortlived or unaired projects, dating as far back as the 1980s.
The film also features an animatronic gorilla built by Amalgamated Dynamics and performed by non-Henson puppeteers.
