Oliver Rohrbeck on Sesamstrasse

Oliver Rohrbeck (b. 1965) is a German actor and voice actor who began his career as a child actor on Sesamstrasse in the 1970s, appearing in recurring film inserts concurrent with the dubbed American street scenes. Later, he dubbed the voice of Spike on Die Dinos (the German dub of Dinosaurs). Beside voice directing and script adapting the dub for Die Muppets, Rohrbeck also took over as the voice of Pepe the King Prawn, continuing in most subsequent projects.

Rohrbeck is the primary German dubbing voice of Ben Stiller and has also been heard as Malcolm-Jamal Warner on The Cosby Show, Chris Rock in The Longest Yard, Neil Patrick Harris in Starship Troopers, and Matthew Broderick in LadyHawke.

His animation dub credits, which date back to childhood, include the Disney characters Pinocchio, Thumper in Bambi, Skippy in Robin Hood, Louie on the original DuckTales and Gyro Gearloose on the reboot, Agent Pleakley in Lilo and Stitch, and Gru in the Despicable Me/Minions movies. He dubbed Justin Long as the Mac in the German Apple commercials.

Beginning in 1979, Rohrbeck starred in the long-running audio drama series Die Drie??? (based on the Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators book series) as adolescent detective Justus Jonas, with new installments appearing as late as 2023.
