Mr

Mr. Bumble scowls at the Muppet Babies

"More?"

"More?"

Oliver Twist is a novel by Charles Dickens published in serialized form between 1837 and 1839.

Songs from the 1960 musical adaptation, with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, have become standards. One such number, "Consider Yourself," has been performed on multiple occasions, including performances on Sesame Street and The Muppet Show.

References[]

  • On Sesame Street Episode 3816, when Oliver wants more food, Baby Bear interprets his babbling as if to say, "Please, sir, I want some more!", which he does in a British accent. He then adds, "Food, glorious food," in reference to the song of the same name from the musical.
  • In episode 3906 of Sesame Street, a member of the Porridge Lovers and Baby Bear share the "Please, sir, I want some more!" exchange as she requests more porridge.
