"On the Farm" is a Sesame Street song that accompanies a film sequence of kids and their farm experience.
Two vocalists sing mostly about the animals that live on the farm, while footage of kids on a hayride get the opportunity to observe such rural sights as a corn hopper (which they get to run their hands under) and watching the cows feed.
The film footage for "On the Farm" was originally made for a four-minute segment from Sesame Street's first season that went unaired [2]. It would be shortened and given the song soundtrack the following year.[3]
