"One Way" is a Sesame Street song that spoofs the Shangri-La song "Leader of the Pack."

It tells the story of a greaser (Christopher Cerf) who can't get to his girlfriend's house because of a "One Way" sign on the road. He thinks his relationship is ruined, until his guiding angel (Jerry Nelson) comes and shows him an alternate route he can take. The greaser's initial desperation — "I'm so lonely I wish I was dead," he mourns — turns to happiness, as the greaser and his girlfriend ride around the block on his motorcycle.

Notes

• Though unnamed in the segment, the lead singer is styled after Fonzie from Happy Days and is referred to as "Fonzie" in the script. His motorcycle is a reused prop, previously ridden by Kermit in the television special Out to Lunch.
• While the televised version is performed by a group of Anything Muppets, Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats are listed as the artists for the album version of the song. Jerry Nelson and Richard Hunt provide the speaking voices for two of the back-up Muppets in both versions.
