Onica was a Gelfling of the Sifa Clan during the late Age of Division.
Onica met Brea when she entered their ship seeking answers about a symbol. Although her Elder, Cadia, thought the symbol meant death and attempted to poison and attack Brea in accordance with this, Onica knocked him out, as she believed the symbol could lead to life. In the young adult novel Tides of the Dark Crystal, Onica's relationship with the Vapra princess, Tavra, was revealed. Tavra and Onica hid their relationship because Tavra's mother, All-Maudra Mayrin, disapproved of her daughter's romance with a Sifa.
