Ouija is a domestic house cat who appears in The Christmas Toy.
As the family pet of the Jones household, Ouija spends time with Jamie and Jesse in the playroom, but also maintains an outdoor lifestyle. Ouija's favorite toy is a catnip-laced cloth mouse named Mew which is often carried in the cat's mouth from room to room.
Mew's time with Ouija has allotted the toy mouse with several habits and mannerisms typical of a domestic cat. For example, when Mew and Rugby find themselves locked in the laundry closet, Mew uses a trick he learned from the cat that involves Rugby slipping his plush-cat-tiger paw under the door and pulling it inward to open it. The most valuable skill Ouija inadvertently teaches Mew is how to meow like a cat; a feat that saves the lives of all the playroom toys on the night of Christmas Eve just as they think the humans are about to discover them.
